ROSLINDALE STATION REDEVELOPMENT
This project is a response to a Request for Proposals by the Boston Redevelopment Authority for the Roslindale MBTA substation. Urbanica’ s concept for the redevelopment of the substation is a 100 seat destination restaurant that will make full use of the dramatic space and create a comfortable atmosphere on the Square where residents and visitors can enjoy the dramatic space, building, and views.
The restaurant will occupy the existing above‐grade floor to take advantage of the natural light that the enormous windows will provide. The restaurant will be approximately 3600 square feet and accommodate 100 guests.
The lower level will be occupied either by a complimentary use such as a bakery/café or entertainment space associated with the restaurant; or by, an independent retail entity. Parking will be accommodated with on‐street public parking and the municipal lot across the park. The project is planned to meet or exceed LEED Silver Certification, with recycled and renewable materials, thermal solar and PV panels, a vegetative wall and other sustainable strategies.
