STATUS: PERMITS AND APPROVALS

Located at 74 Highland St/ 1-13A Dorr St in the Highland Park neighborhood, the proposed project features the rehabilitation of a vacant lot with the construction of a new energy efficient residential. The project is part of a Request for Proposal issued by the Boston Housing Authority in December 2011. Urbanica was selected and designated as the preferred developer for the land disposition and development of the parcel of land.

The adjacent lots are located at the intersection of Highland and Dorr Streets - northeast of Highland Park and the Fort Hill Monument. The site is in direct view of the Alvah Kittredge Park. This corner site condition offers an opportunity to create a unique building that promotes Roxbury as a neighborhood for a unique and innovative green lifestyle. The aim of the project is to bolster Roxbury Fort Hill area’s viability and to highlight Roxbury Fort Hill as a forward thinking community looking to embrace a conscious lifestyle with respect to quality of living, and the environment at large.

The new construction will consist of 8 townhouse units on three levels. Each townhouse will have 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The units will be solar powered and will utilize smart construction system and HVAC equipment for energy efficiency.
